Alice In Wonderland Birthday Party

This is my cute little friend, Emmie....Her wonderful mother called and asked me if I could do this cake for her birthday.  This was a challenging cake as I had never done a Topsy Turvy cake before.  I think that it turned out AWESOME!!!!

I loved making all of the little flowers, mushrooms, and of course the little tea set.

I think that she really enjoyed her cake and I know the at the parents did because they all came up and told me how incredible it was.

I do like to hear that and once again, I felt like I blew my self out of the water with the skills that I have.  It was so much fun stepping out of my comfort zone and tackling this cake head on.

I had my son come with me to help deliver the cake.  I called him my "Cake Wing-man." He loves it.  When we are in the car together....he is the one that watches the cakes  on the turns and tells me that I need to slow down and also the most important part.....stop freak-en out!

I know with many of my cake deliveries, if I didn't have my little 'wing-man' I would be more of a basket case than I am sometimes.

This was one of the most fun cakes that I had done in a while and after taking some flower classes I felt very honored and special to be asked to do this cake for my special friend.  Thanks Emmie for letting me be a part of your special day!

Baby Shower Gender Neutral

I love making cakes.....Did I ever say that??  I think that I have....I also love having friends call me up and say, hey, I need a cake for a friend of mine.  That is so awesome!

Remember when you used to be little and we played games like red rover? When we all had to line up against the wall and wait to be picked for a team??  You know that feeling when you finally got picked??  And you were not the last one??  Yea, that is how I feel when someone chooses me to do a cake for them.  Kinda funny, but at the same time, extremely privileged.

Ok....enough of that....back to the fact that I was asked to do a baby shower cake.  This cute couple didn't want to know the gender of their cute little one to come so we decided to do a gender neutral cake.
We ended up doing a cute teddy bear cake that was a vanilla cake with a Swiss vanilla bean buttercream filling...it was so yummy and moist.

The cute teddy bears were made out of chocolate marshmallow fondant and the cake was covered in marshmallow fondant.
I had extra cake batter, so I made some extra cupcakes for this cute couple.

Mr. and Mrs. Terry Higgins

One day my mom came to me and asked me if I would be willing to do a wedding cake for her best teacher friend from school. She wanted to give the wedding cake to them as a wedding gift.  How could I refuse!
This would be my first wedding cake and I could be more excited to do it for my awesome friend and his new wife, Bertha.

This is how it turned out.  It was awesome.

It was a four tier cake that had two tiers with a white chocolate cake with blackberry filling, red velvet cake with cream cheese filling,  and a triple chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese filling.

My sister was suppose to come down and help me, but was unable to get away in time, but she did the amazing chocolate roses.  The roses was made out of red modeling chocolate.  She did such an amazing job on all of them.  They looked and tasted wonderful.  I love having all edible items on my cakes, however, this cake has been the exception.  The ribbon was not edible and of course the topper, but everything else was.  It was so much fun to do.

I was so nervous doing the cake, but I think that it turned out beautiful and I believe that the couple loved it too!

I love seeing the bride and groom eating my cake.  It makes me so happy to share in their special day.  Everyone told me that it tasted wonderful and couldn't believe how beautiful it was.  Having compliments like this, make me want to make more cakes.  Love my job!
