Mr. and Mrs. Blair Merritt

I can't tell you how excited I was when I received the call from my future sister-in-law asking me to make her wedding cake.  I was so super excited that I took flower and cake classes to brush up and learn new things about decorating cakes.  We went round and round on how it was going to look.  Everything for calla lilies (her favorite) to roses (totally hates) finally settling on these
beautiful flowers....I think that they could be considered Briar Rose flower, but with of course, my little flair.....I thought that they turned out beautiful.

We also had a little problem with the cake.  The bottom layer of the cake when assembling totally collapsed and we had to do some repair to it.
It didn't work, but we were able to piece it back together enough to frost and bring it to the reception hall in order to have it serve with the other layers.
We had four beautiful layers of cake.....top being the White Chocolate cake with Raspberry buttercream filling, the second layer being Pumpkin Spice cake with Cream Cheese buttercream filling.  Third Layer was a Triple Chocolate cake with a Chocolate Ganache filling and the last layer was Red Velvet cake with the Cream Cheese Buttercream filling.
We had the Reception at Heritage Gardens and I can not thank them enough for helping with the cutting and serving of this cake.  We had over 300 people there and it was gone within five minutes of them setting it on the buffet.  They were amazing and I was blown away when people came up to me and told me that they were so sad that they didn't get a bit of the delicious cake. I thought we had enough cake, even with the messed up layer, but it was so good and such a variety of flavors I guess not everyone was able to snag a piece.  Just goes to show, keep your friends close, but you cake closer.

Update: 3/21/14
I got so better pictures from the photographer....you just have to see them....There is a lot.  Just love this cake!
